Welcome!
My name is Kendra Garrett, and I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Psychology from Old Dominion University. I have been passionate about advancing self-care techniques and mental health awareness throughout my academic career. My goal as a Visionary Counselor is to enable people to give their mental health and well-being top priority.
My academic studies have taught me the intricate interactions between thoughts, emotions, and conduct. As a result, I have always been interested in the human mind and behavior. Thanks to my extensive training in psychology and counseling, I have the knowledge and abilities necessary to help people on their path to better mental health.
I have actively taken part in activities and events about mental health throughout my academic career. I have organized workshops on mental health, volunteered at regional groups that support mental health, and promoted mental health awareness on campus.
As I start the next phase of my journey, I am eager to keep looking into methods to help people on their paths to more significant mental health and general well-being. I have been accepted into University of Denver's Master of Social Work program, as well as I intend to continue serving through my nonprofit organization Colorfuldreams. In addition, I want to help people on their journeys to better mental health by sharing my knowledge, experiences, and resources through my online portfolio.

The B.S. in Psychology is designed to provide a knowledge base of current methods, content areas, and theories. It seeks to facilitate the development of intellectual skills and characteristics that enhance the student's lifelong personal and career success. The program begins with a general psychology course and includes courses in scientific reasoning in psychology, quantitative methods and experimental design. Additional coursework is selected from a broad range of available courses. Students are encouraged to pursue breadth across the areas of psychology, particularly when planning for advanced study in psychology.
